Lisa Harris, LMFT

I am honored to have the opportunity to get to know you and perhaps be a person who can support you in working towards your goals. I strive to provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space. I hope in our work together you feel free to feel things that have felt too big or scary to work through, or explore your understanding of familiar behavior patterns that may be holding you back from experiencing the life you desire.

I specialize in working with people that live with anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, low self-esteem, relational issues, workplace difficulty and general life stress. My approach to therapy is a blend of several elements. I believe how we think about our lives affects our decisions and relationships so I encourage clients to explore how these often unconscious thoughts contribute to difficulties. Even though we are individuals, we spend most of our lives interacting with others. I think we are frequently unaware the degree to which we think, feel or act has been influenced by the circles or “systems” we grew up in and therefore have a hard time changing even though we want to. Sometimes we hold onto a behavior or viewpoint that was helpful or even protective in the past but now it gets in the way.
